A Sur-Ron Light Bee X is a light electric off-road motorbike. No starter, no gears, no clutch — twist the throttle and go. It weighs about a third of a petrol enduro and is practically silent.
That combination is what makes it rideable for beginners. Someone who has never ridden a motorbike sits steady on it after the briefing — with us that is the rule, not the exception.
Our routes run on forest and field tracks, not on public roads. No driving licence is required for them.
Under 18 with a signed parental declaration; 12- to 15-year-olds ride accompanied. The declaration is signed on site; all you need to bring is an ID.
Every tour starts with a briefing on flat ground: braking, turning, climbing. We set off only once everyone feels steady.
What applies to a Sur-Ron in Germany — registration, insurance, licence class — is a different question, and not one we advise on. This page is only about our guided tours in Bulgaria: a closed group, a guide for the whole route, terrain away from public traffic.
Also worth saying plainly: we do not rent bikes out for free use. Every ride is guided. If you are looking for a bike for your own trip, we are not the right place — and we would rather say so now than when you arrive.
All you bring is long trousers, closed shoes and an ID.
In the Vratsa Balkan, the western end of the Balkan Range, about an hour and a half north of Sofia. Sheer limestone walls, forest tracks, a 141-metre waterfall and the peak where Hristo Botev was killed.

No. We do not rent bikes out for free use — every ride is guided, with a guide for the whole route. That is a deliberate choice and it does not change.
Less than it looks. No clutch, no gears, no engine braking — just throttle and brake. Most of our guests are on a motorbike for the first time.
Write or call ahead and we will sort it out for your date. The briefing itself is largely showing and copying — language is rarely the obstacle.
